After 17 years in Los Angeles (and 1 in San Francisco), I think it’s time I take a break from California. Hungry for adventure, we’re packing up our newborn and 3 pain in the ass cats, taking a suit case each, and diving into the unknown: We’re moving to NY!

My HUGE Side Project

In a little over a month, my best friend and I will be launching The Indie Chicks. (May 1) .. I’m stoked for everyone to meet her – she’s a remarkable human being. The launch is going to be an exciting event; we’re featuring celebrity stylists, musicians, artists, business owners etc. The name of the game is to get your lazy asses out of your miserable 9-5 paths leading nowhere, and to push you onto the path leading you towards your dreams. We’re featuring women to idolize and giving you the tools to make it happen, too.

The website itself is complete eye candy for the female soul : light shades of pink and blue, dark and daring shadows, and an overall beautiful design.

I’m really excited to share it with you guys. If ChiaraSays is the reality slap you’ve been craving, The Indie Chicks is all about the inspiration, motivation and hunger you’ve been needing. In fact, follow on Twitter and like us on Facebook! Help us the get word out!

Book Sales and Other Shit to Brag About

I am so thankful for everyone’s support and positive feedback on my book. The reviews have been beyond fantastic and I’ve seen a wonderful spike in sales. (Especially since I started offering the ebook version through my site)

Also, remember how we started the year off with 100,000 page views? Well, it took me about 9 months to get that number in 2011.. And we’ve almost doubled it in less than 4 in 2012. I love you.

And if you use a reader to read my posts and have yet to check out my new design .. visit the site! I worked hard on it!! I’m teaching myself css, php, photoshop and illustrator. (I’m the one designing The Indie Chicks site!)

I also want to say that each thank you email I receive brings a pleasant smile to my otherwise gloomy days.

I was hoping to have stuff ready to publish throughout the move but it seems like that isn’t going to happen. Selling everything you own, packing your life away, AND dealing with an adorable 4.5 month old leaves no room for writing. So, like the other few, short breaks I have taken, I invite you to skim the website and check out articles you haven’t read. Posting will resume April 1st, 2012.

More Books?

I had a lot of fun writing The 9 Mirages of Love, so it’s time to dive into book #2. It’s a little scary, but I’ll be dipping my feet into the pool of fiction for all my lady readers. I’ll simultaneously be working on two other non fiction titles for my website, but I wanted to give you something to think about:

If chick lits and ChiaraSays had a wild baby, what would it be? Exactly.

PS. I’ve been taking my own advice on self esteem (check out the self improvement part of the site) and I’ve got to say, a transformation/reinvention is exactly what I needed.
